"The Nit Wits"

Hey!! What's up?! Well, I'm in a pretty good mood right now--not only am I pretty much done with my homework for tonight, but I also found out today that I have a part in our school's fall play! OK, let me explain...Well, on Thursday of last week, I went to a meeting after school for those people who were interested in being involved in our drama club this school year (not only acting--also backstage work). The co-directors announced that there'd be auditions for the fall play, "The Nit Wits", on Tuesday [yesterday]: right after school at 2:15, and later at 7:15. I went right after school. First, one of the directors handed out a sheet of paper that listed all characters-their names, personalities, ages, etc-so we could decide which parts we wanted to try out for. Since they'd just received the script the day before the auditions, we had to do what's called a "cold read" (meaning, auditioning reading the script for the first time). Oh, by the way, let me just say a little bit about the play itself: It's this comedy about these crazy people who come to see a psychiatrist (basically), & there are about 15 characters. I auditioned for 2 parts: Sallyjean (a crazy person), and Lou (the girlfriend of another guy [Steve] in the play)...Today, right after the bell rang at 2 o'clock, I rushed over to look at the sheet posted up-with "The Nit Wits" cast. I scanned it looking for my name, & almost missed it, because my first name was misspelled--they had it as "Elissa" (or something), instead of "Alyssa". Oh well, I don't care, what's most important is that I got a part (one of the 15 characters); I guess I'm lucky, because there were like 20+ people who tried out, which means that several people don't even have roles--but at least they get take part in it (they're doing something during intermission, I guess)...well anyway, there were many other things were noting that when on in my day, like, the fact that I found that I have a B+ in AP English so far (which is technically an A+), & in Band we got this new piece that we're playing for our winter concert--a classical piece called "Rosamunde" or something...but anyway, that's really enough for now, don't you think? Well anyway, tatta!!!
