Tennis, Damn Yankees

Wow, I haven't written in several weeks! I've been rather busy; the main thing is that tennis team practice started 2 weeks ago. It's going OK so far. I'm not extremely happy w/ the way I've been playing--I probably won't be on Varsity this year (next year for sure I will be though!); on the ladder I'm 14th & the first 12 play on Varsity--so close--& the only way I can get on Varsity is if I challenge someone who's higher up than me. The only problem is that our first match is on Wednesday & I haven't challenged anyone 'cuz of our stupid weather, & what's worse is that tomorrow it's supposed to snow (I know, can't you believe it: snowing in April?!) so we'll only have Tuesday for challenge matches. I'm gonna try my hardest 'cuz I really really want to be on Varsity! I don't care who my partner is though, just as long as they're about the same level as me....Last night I went to see my school's production of Damn Yankees. I know you're probably wondering why I'm not in it. Well, the thing is, it just wasn't working out. I went to only 2 rehearsals, so it's not that big of a deal, but still--I mean, I could've been in it, & I feel really bad about quitting. I don't want to be known as a quitter. My mom keeps comforting me though, & telling me it was for the better--w/ tennis, SAT class, & a flute recital it just wouldn't've worked out. I'm absoloutely, w/out a doubt, going to be in next year's play, whether it's onstage or in the pit orchestra. Well anyway, I have to say that I was pleased w/ the performance. There were a couple newcomers & I was somewhat surprised by their stage prescence. It wasn't outstanding or the best high school show I've ever seen or anything, but it was quite enjoyable. I put notes in bags for my friends from the show & also from the orchestra. By the way, I did help out a little bit w/ the show: my mom took the headshots & some of the dress rehearsal photos, & I put the headshots together on pieces of paper. I know it's not much, but hey, @ least I helped! Well, that's all folks! ;)
