Parade Cancellation

Hello! My day didn't really start out too well--actually, that's not entirely true--well anyway, let me explain...Today was supposed to be the Columbus Day Parade (starting at 1pm), and since I'm in Band I have to march in it (duh); our band director'd told us to report to school at 11am. A little past 9 o'clock, when I was having breakfast, I noticed that it was raining quite hard outside; I realized that there was a chance that the parade would be cancelled (or, at least, we wouldn't have to play, because we wouldn't want to get our instruments wet). So, I called our band director's mailbox at school (as he'd told us to do in case of inclement weather like rain), but there was announcement cancelling it or postponing. I tried again like 3 or 4 times--the last time being around 10:30--and there was still no announcement, & it was still raining. I was beginning to worry. So my mom decided to call the Police Dept. & find out if the parade was cancelled (about 10:30), &, sure enough, it was (postponed to tomorrow). I breathed a sigh of relief, because I didn't have to rush or anything. I didn't check the band director's mailbox again until like 11:30, & that was just to see what time we had to report to school tomorrow. What I heard next was not good--he announced that there was a rehearsal at school from 11 til like 11:45ish (it was like past 11:30 at this point) today. I was like, "Oh my God, I can't believe I'm missing the rehearsal right now." I felt soooooo incredibly bad about it; my mom tried to convince me that I shouldn't feel so bad--how was I supposed to know about the rehearsal? It wasn't my fault, was it? So, since I was really upset about this, I emailed him; hopefully he gets the email before the parade tomorrow. I just feel soooooooooooooooooo bad--I wish I'd've known. But there was no way to know, was there? I mean, I could've checked his mailbox again befor 11, but I would've had to rush, & plus, why would I need to call the mailbox again if I knew for certain already that the parade was cancelled? & I think it's partly his fault (not to be mean), because he should've put that announcement on his voicemail earlier, & I bet he didn't even add it until like 10:40, & some people would've had to leave before that, you know what I mean?...Omg, I can't believe I spent all that time ranting & raving about this stupid miscommunication or whatever. A guess it's not a BIG deal, though I just can't get over how bad I feel...well anyway, tatta!!
