NYC Trip, MD Parade
2004-05-31@8:37 p.m..

Hey, what's up?! I know don't about y'all, but I had a pretty fun 3-day weekend. On Friday my Mom and I took the train to NYC; we stayed over there that night, saw a Broadway show at 2pm the next day (Chicago), and took the train home Saturday night. Instead of going to my junior prom Friday night, I had decided to go to NYC w/ my mom (it was pretty much a b'day present [btw, my 17th b'day was May 20th]). You'd probably wonder why I didn't mind missing prom, but it wasn't a big deal @ all for me. I might've gone but I didn't have a date--I might've asked someone but I'm a fairly shy person. However, I promised myself that I would find a date for senior prom next year. I didn't cry over missing it this year, though I have to admit that when my friends were talking about how much fun it was I was kinda jealous & wished I'd gone. It was my choice though...Anyway, back to the NYC trip: it was sooooo much fun!!! I eat a ton of food @ every meal--Friday night we ate at Planet Hollywood & I had a large smoothie & a salad, the next morning for brunch I had challah french toast, & that night I had a burger & fries. The food was very expensive, but it makes sense because it was always in large portions, & plus, it was very good! Also, I very much enjoyed the show, and I surprised that our seats were so good (in fact, both my mom & I agreed that there was no bad seat in the whole [small] theater); we could see the actors' expressions. It was a lot different from the movie, though it was not worse; however, I do like the movie better. The show was quite risque--not appropriate for children--& some parts of it were quite funny, w/ some occasional sexual jokes. There were many other plays/musicals that were being performed Broadway, & I'd most definitely want to go back, though I don't think I'd be able to choose 1 'cuz they all look great! (for example, Beauty and the Beast w/ the Disney Channel's Christy Carlson Romano, The Lion King, & A Raisin in the Sun).

Hey, guess what? I have to more to say in this entry. Today was the Memorial Day Parade, which meant that I had to march in it for band. I was praying for rain but of course it didn't actually start raining until after the parade. I really don't hate marching, it's just that our uniforms are so disgusting and it's so embarrassing to be seen in the them. I like playing, and I know that our band sounds good, it's just that it's the only part about being in the high school band that I don't like. It's not a big deal though, & that was the last parade of the year anyway--only 3 more to go in my high school career!!

Well, that's all folks!! :)
