My Permit

Hey, what's up? Guess what?! I finally got my permit! Yep, I know I turned 16 way back on May 20th, but I just haven't gotten around it. OK, let me explain...I was actually planning to go the day after my birthday, but it didn't work out for some reason-I think because of a band rehearsal. Anyway, we (my parents & I) decided that I'd wait until after school ended, & the main reason why that [waiting] wasn't a big deal, was because I wasn't really in a big rush. So, well, you know how driver's ed's started already? Well, the teacher (Mr. Redanz, who's 64 years old &'s been doing this driver's ed thing for quite a while) said that, instead of going all the way to the DMV (in Old Saybrook) to get it done, those of us who hadn't gotten his/her permit yet could just do it there (at Briarwood Driving School, which is right across from my high school). Niyoka & I told him beforehand that we'd go at 5pm on Wednesday (of this week) &, after changing around my flute lesson, Niyoka & I (my mom picked her up @ her dad's store) waited like 20 minutes, & Mr. Redanz arrived quite late. The 3 of us (my mom included) were quite mad, because he said that we couldn't get our permits until the next day-we had to have a parent permission slip signed beforehand. That really pissed me off. But anyway, we took our tests the next day, &-thank God-we both passed! Yesterday, before she left to go to Boston w/ her sister for a "ladies weekend", Mom helped me drive down my street a couple of times; it's pretty hard @ 1st, but I'm sure that once I practice a lot I'll be a real pro!! Anyway, tatta*sorry this was so long lol!!
