Davis Cup

Hello! My day was pretty fun, & I even got to see a celebrity up close (not bad, eh?)! Today I participated in the Davis Cup (Mohegan Sun Casino) (second round--doubles). Well, let me explain: Last week when I was at my tennis lesson my Mom found out that my tennis club had like 40-50 tickets available for kids/teens to carry flags (from all around the world) in the opening ceremony of today's match; we didn't have to pay a thing, a we got to stand on the court & be on national TV (I think it was publicized, but I'm not positive), & plus, we got free food! It was cool, even though we had to wait like forever & I was getting really bored; my friend Hannah and I went, as well as my brother and his friend...The best part? Being so close to the tennis players. Not only (when we were on the court holding flags) could I see their facial expressions, but when we were waiting to go out onto the court Andy Roddick walked right by us and said "Good morning" to us (us being Hannah, me, and some other teenagers)--I've never been that close to a celebrity before! I saw Billy Gilman once when I was working at the concession stand at my brother's football game last school year, but he's nowhere near as cool or as good-looking as Andy Roddick--and besides, he was the #1 player in the world in 2003!! Anyway, so as you can see, my day was good...Oh, by the way, today's match was the Bryan brothers (the #1 men's doubles team in the country) against these 2 Austrian guys--the Bryans won in straight sets. ;) I really wish I could go tomorrow and watch Andy's match but I have my stinkin' SAT prep class from 2-4:30 :( Oh well, I guess I'll just watch it on TV before I go...Anywhooo, that's it!!
