colleges, pit, band

Hey, I guess I'm only updating once every month. I guess it's not a big deal. Anyway, as you can probably guess, I've been quite busy lately--mostly w/ college stuff. @ the last minute (last night, to be exact) I decided that I'm going to apply Early Decision @ Denison University (Ohio). So now I'm gonna have to push to get my application in by November 15th, which is only like a week and a half away. I knew that Denison would be @ the top of my list--it's down to 10 schools now, yay!--when I visited it on October 15th, but I figure out until just a couple days ago that it was my top choice. My 2nd choice would be Wheaton College in Massachusetts. It's kind of strange, if you think about it: my 2 fave schools are the furthest and closest ones away from me. Ohio's pretty far from here--you have to fly--but it's not that hard to get there, & plus, being only an hour and half away from home might be boring. Not that there's nothing wrong w/ being close to home, but I personally would prefer to go away for college. Most of my friends'll probably go to college in the Northeast--many in Connecticut or Massachusetts--but that's perfectly fine.
If I haven't told you already, I'm in the pit orchestra for this fall's musical, "Anything Goes." The music's pretty cool, but I only play in like 5 out of the 30 songs in the show. That's what I get for playing the flute; it's a sax- and trumpet- based score. But it's fun nonetheless, because, even though I won't actually be in the musical, I'm still involved in it in some way. I plan to audition for the spring's comedy, whatever it may be. I love to act, but I can't sing.
I've been working a lot of my school's band web site (I'm the webmaster). @ the moment it's up but not linked to from the school's home page. If you want to check it out you can: http://www.angelfire.com/band2/stoningtonband...Did I tell you how HUGE our band is this year? There are like 80 people. Well, the reason for that is there's no Concert Band, only a Wind Ensemble; I don't think that's really fair because the freshmen were automatically put in W.E. but I had to be in C.B. freshmen year. Oh well. But it makes sense--there would've been too few people in C.B., I guess it's better this way, but still. There are like 10 flutes! I'm section leader this year, which is pretty cool (not to brag). There's only one other senior flutist, one junior, & the rest are underclassmen. The other flute players are actually pretty good, though. We're gonna have an awesome year!! :)
Well, that's enough jibber jabber I think. Au revoir!! :--)
