Holy cow, it's been quite a while since my last entry! (Alright, I'll stop saying that but I just get soooo mad @ myself for being forgetful!) I'm not going to say everything that's happened to me in the last 1.5 months or so, but I'll talk about the big stuff....
Well, Friday was my 18th b'day!!!! A big one, I know. The only thing I did to celebrate was a huge, wonderful [family] dinner @ my fave restaurant--Tony's D in New London, where I had my fave meal: chicken parm, caesar salad, garlic bread, & creme brulee! mmm mmm good!! I didn't have a party, but I'm planning on having a pretty big graduation party in late July; we'd've had one earlier but we're too busy to start planning right now, & it'd take a long to prepare for it...Well anyway, for my b'day from my parents I got: a bookmark, 2 belts, a pink purse & pink walet, & (drum roll please) a TV/DVD!!!!!! & I had to wait to open it until like 10pm 'cuz I had to wait for my bro to get back from his Six Flags trip. It was actually kinda funny, 'cuz they told me to close my eyes & they brought it in and put in right in front of me. I laughed when I opened my eyes--it was practically right against my face! That night my dad set it up in my room; the DVD works, but I can't watch TV yet (it's not connected to the cable). The main reason they bought it for me? College, of course. Now I have a TV/DVD, but I still want a digital camera & a laptop lol! I think I'll probably get a laptop or computer, but I really shouldn't get my hopes up...
The dinner theatre show, "Southern Fried Murder", is this Thursday-Sunday. If I haven't already said so, I have one of those roles, & it's interesting 'cuz there are 2 casts (I'm cast 2). Fortunately though, I get to perform in 2 shows: Friday & Sunday. I'm actually kinda worried--not more myself, but for the show as a whole. There are still some people who don't know all their lines, & act 2 sucks @ this point. But I won't stress over it. My director's gonna be mad, especially when she finds out that some of us (myself included) don't even have costumes yet!...This week is gonna be really hectic, what w/ late/long rehearsals & everything. That's the worst part about being in the shows. But it's definitely worth it!!
June 4th--a week from this Saturday--is the Pops Concert! I.E., it's my LAST Band concert @ SHS! It's really sad...I'm actually kinda nervous about Pops; we in Tri-M need to get moving on the preparations. I mean, like no one's been to the meetings & we haven't really done much Pops work. Hey, I've done my fair share.
Speaking of Band stuff, the Virginia Beach trip was not long ago (May 11-15). And, honestly, it wasn't great. I'm not saying it was absoloutely horrible. I'm just saying it wasn't really worth it. Well, I think the 2 main factors were: 1-I didn't have that many friends who were going, & 2-the judges didn't give us a good score on our performance (I'm not gonna elaborate, but let me just say we gotta lower score than our Chorus did). Actually, the best part about the whole trip was lying on the beach & tanning...though, we didn't have much an opportunity to do so. But I did get a nice tan when we were @ Busch Gardens all day!
I mean really, what is w/ our weather? On my b'day, May 20th, it was kinda chilly? What the heck?! The weather should be warm this time of the year...
Hey, guess what?! I have a job for the summer! Well, it's not really that exciting for me; my parents are happy. I was recently offered a full-time job as a summer camp counselor (which I did last year part-time); I'd work 30-40 hours a week. This = big bucks! (i.e., more $ for college)
